Geboren in Voronezh, USSR, lebt und arbeitet in Berlin
Maria K. spürt Geschichten in den zarten Verkrustungen von Zweifel und Poesie nach. Auf diesem Weg erforscht sie die Verbindungen zwischen Sprache, Übersetzung, Machtstrukturen und den innewohnenden Spuren von Unterdrückung, Missbrauch und Ungleichheit. Es ihre Art der Entzifferung der Welt.
Nicht nur sammelt sie so Ideen zur Erkenntnistheorie, sondern wagt dabei zugleich die Erfahrung, ihre wissenschaftliche Expertise beiseite zu lassen und sich immer weiter damit auseinanderzusetzen, „was wir als Wissen besitzen“. Indem sie verschiedene Formate und Medien verwendet, die vom täglichen Leben geprägt sind, prägt sie damit ihre künstlerische Praxis.
Diese Praxis ist zudem durch einen interdisziplinären Ansatz gekennzeichnet, der kollektive und experimentelle Interaktion beinhaltet.
