Passed on, about things passed on from the ART OF EMERGENCY RESIDENCIES
Lecture performance
Unfortunately, we have to postpone the upcoming event - the conclusion of our program THE ART OF EMERGENCY. The planned finissage presentation passed on, about things we have passed on from the ART OF EMERGENCY RESIDENCIES, will not take place on March 12. Instead, we will find a way to make up for this in a slightly different form and at a different location and will invite you again soon. There are ideas, more on that soon ...
That was and is the point: In two years of the program THE ART OF EMERGENCY, 20 participants, the artists in residence, have left objects from the context of their work in the workroom thealit, for each subsequent residency. The aim was, if possible, to modify the found objects with a reference to 'Emergency' and to leave behind a new object themselves. Claudia Reiche and Andrea Sick set themselves the task of exhibiting this, placing it in a new context and commenting on it.
Can placebos help? Does sound have the power to process complex emotions? Sound artists Erin Gee, Julia E Dyck, and Vivian Li are responding, as they put it,"to the needs of our society through a practice of radical sonic care".
From January 29 the work Audio Placebo Plaza (APP) can be explored in thealit's Virtual Arbeitszimmer Sound art for current and future emergencies – with all the power of the placebo!
