Project
Unpaid domestic labour & ritual kink power dynamics may seem worlds apart - but in the shadows of the everyday, they share a choreography of control, repetition & intimate exchange. This project reimagines the myth of Hades & Persephone as a post-capitalist analogy of erotic consent, seasonal transformation & the redistribution of domestic power. Rather than portraying Persephone as a stolen bride, she emerges here as a ( queer ) initiatrix - entering the underworld on her own terms, as a conscious participant in the cycles of care, shadow work & libidinal exchange. Within this framework, the domestic sphere (or future performance space) transforms into a mythopoetic site: at once sanctuary & dungeon, where ritual kink becomes both aesthetic practice & political tool. Through symbolic acts of dominance, service & surrender, the research seeks to re-script the hidden economies that structure intimacy, labour & power in everyday life.
