b/w*itch

Katze Greeven, Esther Adam, Anngret Schultze and Kattalin Newiger Mixtelena are part of the queerfeminist performance collective b/w*itch, founded in 2019. b/w*itch operates at the intersection of sound, dance, performance, visual art and activism.

In 2019, the piece INCANTATRIX was created, which premiered at Kampnagel (HH) and made a guest appearance at the Habitat Festival in Hohenlockstedt. The focus was on the witchhunt in the late Middle Ages and the ongoing effects on power relations today. With Practical_MAGIC, b/w*itch began a multi-part research into the topicality and resignification of the figures of the witch and the bitch with a residency at Schwankhalle Bremen in March 2020. This was followed in 2021 by Practical_SPELL, another residency in the Schwankhalle, which ended in a participatory audio walk. Walks of Disorientation was created in 2022 in and at MARKK in Hamburg. At the Hyperhorrorhappening 2022 in City46 (HB), the Hexensprechstunde offered a space consisting of several stations for dialogs. In 2022 #takeheart led to a research on the symbiotic characteristics of fungi and the question of whether these can be transferred to society. This developed into the open funghi lab, in which the audience and performers go through various stations on an equal footing in order to approach the qualities of fungi holistically. 2024 with the Flausen+ scholarship at Meta Theater Moosach the research moving guts was created in order to develop a game in which collaboratively the fungi decays the patriarchy.
