Art historian and cultural theorist,
after studying art history she has been worked as stand-in professor and guest professor at the University of the Arts Bremen from 2002-2005.
She also haves also been teaching art history and art theory at the University of Visual Arts Braunschweig and the University of Hamburg. After studying art history and german language and literature in Stuttgart and Hamburg she received her PhD with a thesis on serial procedures in the art of the sixties ("Serielle Verfahrensweisen. Pop Art, Minimal Art, Conceptual Art, Postminimalism", Berlin 2003). From 2001 to 2002 she was assistant for the Conceptual Artist Hanne Darboven.
Since 1998 she is Member of the thealit Frauen.Kultur.Labor, Bremen. Currently, she is project leader of "Art and Research. Techniques of knowledge-building and structuring in artistic-scientific practice" (http://www.syn-bremen.de)
Main topics of interest include contemporary art, theory of image media, representation, interfaces and limitations of art-historic, artistic and curatorian activities; artistic methods of production and procedures; relationship between art and science.
